Where's Waldo - Finding Paper is Like Finding a Needle in a
Haystack
Have you ever been frustrated trying to find a document you
filed or worse, one previously filed by an employee who is no longer around?
You've searched and searched but the darn thing still remains elusive.
Hopefully, your life doesn't depend on it. In response to this problem, more and
more companies are switching to paperless technology. Not only does this
solution save time finding things but imagine the extra space you will free up
by permanently removing filing cabinets.
We are experts in paperless technology. Because all client bills are scanned
and linked to the appropriate accounting transaction the OnePoint Solution makes
finding these documents simple and effortless. The required document is readily
available when you select the bill for payment. It is where you expect to find
it when reviewing expenses and can easily be pulled up when your tax preparer is
preparing your return.
Implementing paperless technology is as simple as combining the use of a
scanner and a database with a healthy measure of discipline. The only obstacle
to overcome is the natural human tendency to hoard paperwork back at your desk.
Once the system is up and running, you can easily retrieve anything you need
right from your desktop. Also, a document can be indexed in many different of
ways so you can easily find it without having to put yourself in the filer's
shoes.

Make Smarter Hires - Assess New Hire Personalities
Each position within a company comes with its own unique set
of challenges. Finding the right person for the job is more than just
identifying the skill set. Aptitude and attitude are hugely important factors
too. You know better than anyone, what the position requires and the culture of
your company. So your challenge is to find a good match of skills, aptitude and
attitude.
Sound easy? It is not as easy as you think. We discovered after many false
starts that there are several key personality traits which are essential to
performing the accurate and customer service driven accounting we offer to our
clients. Determining which candidates have these traits from the interview,
application and references can be much harder than you would think. Oddly
enough, a two page personality test can hit the bulls eye with amazing accuracy.
A few years ago we introduced a personality appraisal test administered
during the new employee screening process. It has drastically improved our
employee retention because it allows us to hire people who naturally enjoy our
type of work and company culture. The kinds of traits, both good and bad, that
are revealed make the hiring process easy. We never discount the appraisal.
Experience has taught us that it is 95% accurate.
There are many tests you can offer. We use Kauffman Consultancy because Jim
Kauffman tailors his assessment to reflect the position for which the candidate
is applying. You can contact Michelle Denton to receive sample appraisals that
will demonstrate how much about the candidate is revealed. You can also contact
Jim Kauffman at (801) 745-2800.
